BEST THINGS TO DO IN DA NANG IN 24 HOURS

The list below of the best things to do in Da Nang is certainly not exhaustive of everything Da Nang has to offer. This beautiful coastal city boasts pristine nature, all the conveniences and sights of a modern urban center, friendly people, and stunning architectural feats. There is most likely something for every traveler to enjoy.

Bà Nà Hills – A European wonderland

Located on the Truong Son Mountain range, this entertainment complex is only accessible by cable car. It recreates European fantasies for a Vietnamese audience if slightly cobbled together: in a charming French village, Roman centurions stand guard as statues and take pictures with tourists, overlooked by ornate castles.

Another iconic attraction of this complex is the Golden Bridge. Two moss-wreathed stone hands rise out of the hillside to lift a shining bridge, from which visitors can enjoy a stunning birds-eye-view of the region. Its spectacular, surreal beauty inspired the bridge leading into Dream’s domain in the Netflix series The Sandman.

Travel tip: Spend the night in an onsite hotel, then stroll the grounds before the park opens. As you walk the cobblestone streets, the lightly chill air and the thick, pure white fog will transport you to a crisp European morning in the heart of Vietnam.

Mỹ Khê beach – Sun, sea, and sand

Đà Nẵng is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, and there’s a lot of it: Mỹ Khê beach alone stretches languidly for over 900m along the coast. Here, the sand glitters in the clear, cool blue water, bathed in sunlight. You can splash around, swim in designated areas, or simply rent a deck chair, sit back with a good book, and relax under an umbrella. Fresh seafood is available in any of the restaurants lining the street opposite.

Marble mountains – more than a dramatic view of the city

The mountain is situated 9 km on the outskirts of Da Nang and is a group of five limestone peaks with a network of caves, tunnels, towers, and pagodas built by Mahayana Buddhists and the Nguyen Dynasty Kings. Walking up hills passing different temples and caves, you will reach the top where you can find the best city and the countryside view. They are currently operating a night tour at Marble mountains that surely offer a different experience to the day visit.

Museum of Chăm Sculpture – A window to the past

If a day trip to Mỹ Sơn (69 km away) is out of your budget, you can supplement your trip with a visit to the Museum of Cham Sculpture. Since 1915, the Museum has housed artifacts from the bygone Kingdom of Champa. You can see ornate depictions of Hindu gods that once watched over their worshippers, made out of terracotta and stone. Exhibits are dated mainly from the 7th to the 15th century.

The Bridges of Đà Nẵng – When transportation becomes entertainment

Two of Đà Nẵng’s bridges, the Hàn River Bridge and Dragon Bridge, have more to them than meets the eye.

Hàn River bridge is illuminated in colorful lights in the evening, attracting tourists, but an even greater spectacle happens around midnight. At that time, the bridge swings on its axis and opens up to let ships through.

The Dragon Bridge stretches over 666 meters – an ominous number for English speakers, but an auspicious one for the Vietnamese, as “six” is homophonic with “blessing”, making “666” thrice the luck. The bridge resembles a golden dragon, a symbol of royalty, good fortune, protection, and abundance. At 9 pm on weekends, people gather to see the metallic dragon breathe fire and water from its mouth.

Cồn Market- A market with all options

This market and the shopping area were established in the 1940s and once renovated in 1984 to their current form. There are more than 2000 shops which sell everything you could ever need from clothes, vegetables, shoes, antique watches, local handicrafts to secondhand outfits. And, it is surely a place to sample the region’s streets food such as jackfruit salad, bánh bột lọc, mỳ quảng, and many more.

Check out the Linh Ung Pagoda

On the Son Tra peninsula, the Linh Ung Pagoda is about 10 kilometers from the city center. When visiting Da Nang, you should not skip this temple because it is located in this area’s most stunning natural beauty. The temple is set back on a peninsula facing the East Sea, surrounded by Cu Lao Cham Island, and in the distance is the gorgeous Hai Van Pass pass.

The tallest Quan Am Buddha statue in our region is what gives Son Tra Peninsula’s Linh Ung pagoda its reputation as a popular tourist destination. This statue, which stands on top of a hill that is almost 100 meters high, has a lotus that is 35 meters wide, a heart that is 17 meters broad. There are around 21 statues of the “Buddha on the right side of the Buddha” on pedestals, one on each floor. This statue can reach a height of 67 meters overall.

Relax at Non Nuoc Beach

According to Forbes Magazine, NonNuoc beach was ranked one of the top six beaches in the world in 2015. It takes eight kilometers to get there from along the southeast of the city’s center. The 5-kilometer-long coastline beach is located at the base of the Marble Mountains.

Non Nuoc beach appears to be a round crystal green lake when seen from above, surrounding the base of the Marble Mountains. You can feel breezes, clear blue water, mild slopes, fine-sand beaches, and bright sunshine.

Furthermore, Non Nuoc beach’s year-round temperature is cool and there is no tide current, which is suitable for swimming and diving activities. You can stop by any small tent to lay back and spend time with family or friends while enjoying fresh seafood and beverages.

Admire the Phap Lam Pagoda

Phap Lam pagoda has been constructed since 1934. The temple has a majestic and historic appearance thanks to the passage of time. This tourist location is only 3 kilometers from Da Nang city, making travel very convenient for visitors. The Asian architectural style was affected by Buddhism.

The sitting Buddha statue, which measures 1.1 meters in height, is one of the attractions in Da Nang’s Phap Lam Pagoda. The lecture hall of the temple can accommodate up to 100 people.

The temple hosts several unique festivals, such as the Summer Opening Ceremony, the Exam Season Relay Program, the Lotus Flower Photo Exhibition Celebrating Buddha’s Birthday, and more. When you visit, you will find a moment of purity, relax your soul, ignore the chaos, and experience many of these festivals.

Discover some historic stories at the Fifth Military Division Museum

The largest military museum in Da Thanh serves as a repository for artifacts and a place to keep memories of a brilliant and heroic period in the history of Vietnamese independence and freedom during the resistance fight with France and America. This location has almost 9,000 m2 of space, which is divided into 2 main show areas:

  • More than 5,000 square meters of the outside space are used mostly for showing large-caliber heavy weapons. These are all significant weaponry used by the French and American armies, like tanks, planes, and armored cars, which were all destroyed by the Vietnamese army and populace.
  • On the other hand, 3,000 square meters of indoor space are separated into 12 rooms. Thousands of priceless documents, pictures, artifacts, and movies about the war and the grueling fighting of the army and people are on display in this location.

Visit Asia Park

The Asia Park park is situated in the heart of Da Nang city. Tourists can find a distinctive and original fusion of numerous well-known game genres. This park has the remarkable tallest Sun Wheel in Southeast Asia. The park’s 868,694 m2 overall size includes three primary areas:

Visitors to Da Nang, a coastal city, have several affordable options to purchase or rent surfboards or swimwear. Beaches in Middle Viet Nam does not have strong waves like other famous ones because of the ocean and climate variables. The surfing season at Da Nang is, nevertheless, quite lengthy. This makes the central region the ideal location for travelers to stay for an extended period of time.

Visit the Cao Dai Temple

The Saint Trung Hung Buu Toa shrine was constructed in 1956 by the Tu Linh Dong Tu group and their adherents. Historical architecture may be seen in Cao Dai Mission Church. The Holy See’s three doors are divided so that men and women can enter separately on either side of the central door, which is used for dignitaries.

The Cao Dai religion, which has more than 12,000 adherents, has contributed to spiritual values, enhancing Vietnamese cultural values.
